This is the basic build order for going a Bow Rider start in colonial.
The point in going Bow Riders in colonial is for 3 reasons.
-They are excellent raiders, even after being nerfed from FP 1.1 and 1.2a.
-They can stop a hussar start dead in it's tracks.
-They also do very well vs heavy infantry, making them very versatile.
It's best too look at the Bow Rider as Sioux's Musketeer unit, since they fill the role, and do it much better.
Required Cards: Discovery Age: 3 Villagers Colonial Age: 5 Villagers, 700 Gold, 6 Cetan Bowman, 5 Axe Riders Fortress Age: 1000 Wood, 9 Wakina, 5 Rifle Riders, 5 Axe Riders, 3 Dog Soldiers, Santee Support, Two Kettle Support
Build Order:
Discovery Age: From the start of the game, you're going to send 3 villagers to food crates, and 2 onto your closest hunt. After your food crates are unpacked, all villagers to food. You need to be herding your second, and if possible, third hunts back toward your Town Center. Sioux are extremely food heavy so you want to be sure you get them back to your base or you'll be running out of food quick. Keep creating villagers until you've reached 12 population. Your first shipment will be 3 villagers, giving you a total of 15 villagers. You'll be aging with 15 villagers as soon as possible, which will be around the 3 minute mark. Age with the Chief (400 Wood), and immediately split villagers to 10 on food, 5 on gold. Keep them on these resources till you've aged. Set your Town Center to your gold mine, and queue a Villager.
Colonial Age: As soon as you age take 2 villagers off of food, and have them collect the 400 wood. Your first card will either be 5 Villagers, or 6 Cetan Bowman. It all depends upon what your opponent is doing. If they go for an aggressive rush, you want the 6 Cetan Bowman. If they either sit back defensively, or go Hand Cavalry, you're going to send 5 Villagers. You'll immediately build a stable as soon as 200 wood is gathered. Start producing Bow Riders. Start raiding as soon as your Bow Riders are made. Try and play it aggressive if they went Hand Cavalry or are defensive. If they did rush you, keep your Bow Riders out of melee, and hit and run Heavy Infantry. Keep villager production on gold until you have 10 on gold, then start moving the rest to food, or adding some to wood if you need to add Cetan Bowman. You should be able to keep Bow Rider production constant, as well as adding Cetan in to help combat Infantry. If you find yourself going up against Ranged Infantry, I recommend sending the 5 Axe Rider card, then switching more villagers to wood to get Cetan Bowman out. If they jump to Fortress age, cease production of Bow Riders, and focus on aging yourself. Send 700 gold, and age with either the Messenger (Fast Age Up) or the Wise Lady (12 Bison).
Fortress Age: At this point no build order can help. You'll need to be smart, scout well, and use your powerful Fortress shipments to their fullest. I personally recommend sending Wakina, followed by Axe Riders, or a Mercenary shipment. Just keep cool, and mass an army together. If they for an aggressive Fortress, draw them into your base and surround them. If you can surround their units they can't micro, and you should be able to win the battle.
