In this strategy you require lots of wood chopping. Recently, I've had greater success with buying wood up until you have a few vills on wood to supply you with houses.
Deck:
2 Settler Wagons (Age 1 & 2)
3 Settler Wagons (Age 2)
Germantown Farmers (Age 3)
Economic Theory (Age 1 TAD Only)
Team Cavalry Attack (Age 2)
Cavalry Hitpoints (Age 2)
Cavalry Combat (Age 3)
700 Wood (Age 2)
Recommended:
Factories (Age 4)
Silversmith (Age 2 - For coin heavy maps)
Spice Trade (Age 2)
Furrier (Age 1)
Royal Mint (Age 3)
Refrigeration (Age 3)
Discovery Age
Starting Crates:
2 Wood Crates: Build a market + house, gather 50 wood/coin, research hunting dogs
1 Wood Crate, 1 Coin Crate: Build a market, gather 50 wood/75 coin, buy 100 wood for a house, research hunting dogs
1 Wood Crate: Build a house
- Herd hunts to your TC
- Ship 2 Settler Wagons
- Age with 17 villager population + 400 Wood
Transition
- Shift Settler Wagons to wood & send 2 vills to forward base
- Research Placer Mines
- Gather another 125-200 wood (depending on whether you want steel traps first or the second gold upgrade first) and switch your Settler Wagons to coin
- Queue up two villagers
Colonial Age
- Gather 400 wood crates
- Ship 700 wood
- Build a Stable
- Research 2nd Age gold gathering upgrade or Steel Traps (This is preference, both work)
- Build houses
- All new villagers go to food
- Once 700 wood arrives gather it and research the second gold gathering upgrade or steel traps depending on which one you still need, build some more houses too.
- Ship 3 Settler Wagons & send to coin when they arrive
- Once you have about 12-15 villagers on food, set the TC waypoint to wood & research gang saw

2-3-2 Build Order
This is the same thing, only you don't ship 700 wood, instead you ship 2 SW, 3 SW, 2SW. I don't recommend doing this build order on a map that's low on the silver/gold mines.
- Herd hunts to your TC
- Ship 2 Settler Wagons
- Age with 17 villager population + 400 Wood
Transition
- Shift Settler Wagons to wood & send 2 vills to forward base
- Research Placer Mines
- Gather another 325 wood and switch your Settler Wagons to coin
- Queue up two villagers
Colonial Age
- Begin gathering 400 wood crates
- Ship 3 Settler Wagons
- Research the second gold upgrade
- Build a Stable
- Build 2 houses
(You will have 25 wood left over, this is fine, you use this later.)
Once your first batch of Uhlans comes out buy 200 wood at the market, with it build 1 house and research steel traps. Now you should also be shipping the 2 Settler Wagons. You may have to sell 100-200 food to balance out your economy. You will be buying wood as needed for housing.
Once you have enough vills on food to fuel an Uhlan spam and vill spam (about 12-15 vills), research gang saw and switch your TC waypoint to wood.
