Discovery
Starting Crates:
2 Wood Crates: Build a market + house, gather 50 wood/coin, research hunting dogs
1 Wood Crate, 1 Coin Crate: Build a market, gather 50 wood/75 coin, buy 100 wood for a house, research hunting dogs
1 Wood Crate: Build a house
- Herd hunts to your TC
- Ship 2 Settler Wagons
- Age with 17 villager population and the 400 wood politician
Transition
- Switch all Settler Wagons to wood, if you didn't have a market start, put 2 normal vills on wood as well
- Build a market if you haven't already, research Hunting Dogs if you haven't already and Placer Mines, and gather an additional 125 wood. All Settler Wagons go to coin and all vills to food.
Colonial
- Research Steel Traps
- Gather 400 Wood
- Ship 3 Settler Wagons
- Build a Stable
- Build 2 houses
- Raid with your Uhlans, but do not engage with them, if they die your strategy will be that much weaker
Stop producing Uhlans after your first batch, you should have your 3rd shipment by now, or soon. You will be shipping either 700 wood or 8 Crossbows + 2 Uhlans. Preferably ship the wood, unless you're under heavy pressure, in which case you should be able to fight off most attacks with 7 Uhlans, 8 crossbows, minutemen, and TC fire if need be. If you ship the 8 crossbows, you're going to need to put quite a few villagers onto wood.
- Age with the 6 Skirmisher politician or the fast age up, the fast age up isn't really worth it unless you have a free shipment available from a treasure or something, and even then, by the time the shipment arrives in age 3 you would've had the 6 skirms already, sometimes it's necessary though.
Transition
- Switch a few villagers to wood and research Gang Saw in order to keep up house production, you'll need more vills on wood eventually, but for now 3 will do.
- Research the second gold gathering upgrade when it doesn't interfere with your population room
Continue raiding where you can, build some houses if you shipped the 700 wood maybe even put up a trading post. You can restart your Uhlan production, or save the coin until Fortress so you can make War Wagons or ship one of the big mercenary shipments Germany has.
Fortress
- Upgrade your Uhlans
- Ship a military shipment, this will usually be 8 Skirmishers + 3 Uhlans
Push as soon as you have a sizeable mass, which shouldn't be hard given Germany's massive age 3 shipments.
From here on, you'll need to adapt to whatever your opponent does, whether it be from shipments or just units you train yourself, is up to you.

There's more than one way to do this strategy, if you want a faster age up time you'll be needing to use this build, however, it is much less eco heavy.
Transition to Colonial
- Switch all vills to wood except for 2 or 3 leave on food.
- Build a trading post
- Build a market if you haven't already and research hunting dogs and placer mines. Do not gather another 125 wood.
- Switch all villagers to food and all Settler Wagons to coin
Colonial
- Build a Stable and 2 houses
- Ship 3 Settler Wagons
- Continuous villager production, TC waypoint on food
- Make 5 Uhlans and raid
- Gather another 300 coin and switch your settler wagons to food and ship 700 coin
- Age with the Exiled Prince (Fast Age Up)
Transition to Fortress
- Research Gang Saw
- Switch approximately 15 villager pop to wood, some to coin, research Steel Traps and the 2nd Tier Gold upgrade, build houses.
- When you feel you can, switch some vills back to coin and some back to food (or most to coin, if you want a merc shipment). You may want to leave a few on wood. Make sure you have 200 wood for the veteran Uhlan upgrade.
Fortress
You should hit Fortress at roughly 7:40 with a shipment ready. The shipment is up to you, usually it is 8 Skirmishers followed by 7 Skirmishers with constant Uhlan production. This will give you a very powerful mass to push out with.
This build takes practice to get the villager timings right, good luck.
