Starting Crates:
2 Wood Crates: Build a market + house, gather 50 wood/coin, research hunting dogs
1 Wood Crate, 1 Coin Crate: Build a market, gather 50 wood/75 coin, buy 100 wood for a house, research hunting dogs

Herd hunts towards TC. Go for early treasures to aid in market and also kill guardians for xp so as to send the three villager card as fast as possible (if you get an early 80xp treasure, the three villager shipment will arive early enough to gather an additional 50 food ). Age with 16 villager population using the 500 food politition. Keep your explorer reletively near a trade post.
TRANSITION
Put all villagers on wood until you gather 250 wood and build a trade post. then put 4 or 5 vills on food and research placer mines. Gather 525 wood then distribute five vills on coin and the rest on food.
COLONIAL
Build two baracks and research steel traps. Ship 700 wood then 700 coin. Start building rods and or muskets from your baracks. If you are against a musket civ then it is best to go musket start. If you are against a non musket civ it is best to go rodelero start. When the wood arives build five houses and a stable. When the coin arives you can start making cav. If your opponent goes pure muskets then you can ship 600 wood and switch to 10 crossbow batches from your baracks.
You will almost always want to make cav with this stratagy because musket rod beats all forms of heavy infantry save for pure musket and hussars beat light infantry. The reason for starting with two baracks is that it is a little faster than starting baracks stable and it is a little easier to fb and use muskets to siege if you are against a slow civ. It allows you to make more rodelero and if you are against a unit like a longbow then you want to put as many longbows in hand attack as possible and rodeleros are perfect for that. Do not forget to raid with your cav once you make it.
Shipping hand infantry hitpoints then attack is a good idea. Also advanced arsenal is very good for musket hus. The infantry speed card makes your combo vertually unbeatable.
