start with 300 wood
build a house and market
chop wood and mine coin for the first food upgrade
you should get a treasure or two to alleviate your vills
when you get a card send the 1 trade post card age 1
(the card also makes them cheaper)
Age with whichever wonder you like
put vills on wood for a baracks and the rest on what rec you need for your army
leave 4 or 5 of food for vill production
once age 2, build rax
send 700 and 600 wood
when they arrive build more trade posts a consulate some houses and do your market upgrades
this is a more economic and faster strategy for china only doesn't work as well with FFs
if you want a trade post for an FF, ship 300 wood instead
The extra wood card you will get age two will allow for the construction of 2 more trade posts at least+extra for market upgrades. When going old han army China can use all the wood it can get for military production and buildings. And three trade posts are definitely worth more than 3 villagers. This is taking advantage of the trade empire card however would slow down an FF. If your interest isn't building up a "trade empire" the card isn't useful. So its good for having an economic age two.
I am thinking it might work for a native rush because the huge issue with the strat is that you have 20 less population and so cannot ship units first and make units from the rax. If you go natives the population would be less of an issue and so you could put a pretty good rush together particularly if you are on a map with some a native like nakota or inca. The tradeposts will get you a pretty long line of unit shipments. As an added bonus the native trade post would only cost 200 ^^. If you build your first house forwards and set it as the waypoint for shipments you embassy will spawn there as well as your units. Five inca and 7 steppi put a lot of siege together. I have yet to try this though.
